This Privacy Policy explains how Awen LLC (“Awen,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Sync.Land and our affiliated music platforms and services, including Valt (valt.digital). By using the platforms, you agree to this Policy.
1. Who we are
Sync.Land is a music-licensing platform operated by Awen LLC. This Policy also covers our affiliated platforms and services, including Valt. You can reach us at info@sync.land.
2. Information we collect
- Account information you provide: your name, artist or act name, email address, password, and profile details.
- Content you submit: music, recordings, artwork, lyrics, metadata, and related materials.
- Payment and payout information: when you buy a license, payment is handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers. When you receive artist payouts, we store the payout email (for example, PayPal) that you provide.
- Blockchain information: if you mint or collect NFTs, we process the wallet address and on-chain transaction details involved. On-chain data is public and permanent by nature.
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, actions taken, approximate location, and browser and device information, collected through analytics tools.
- Communications: messages you send us, and your engagement with our emails (including whether a message was opened or a link clicked).
- Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage.
3. How we use information
- to operate and provide the platforms (accounts, uploads, licensing, payments, payouts, and minting);
- to send transactional messages (confirmations, receipts, license delivery, payout notices) and, where permitted, updates and marketing you can opt out of;
- to process and record licenses and NFT transactions;
- to measure, secure, and improve the platforms;
- to comply with law and enforce our Terms.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the platforms:
- Payment processing — Stripe processes card payments.
- Payouts — PayPal (or the payout provider you designate) receives the information needed to pay you.
- NFT minting — NMKR facilitates minting and on-chain issuance; wallet addresses and token metadata are processed and recorded on the Cardano blockchain, which is public.
- Email and infrastructure — Google Workspace for email delivery and our hosting providers.
- Analytics — analytics providers (such as Amplitude) help us understand usage.
- Affiliated platforms — our affiliated platforms and services, including Valt, consistent with this Policy.
- Legal — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the platforms.
5. Public and on-chain information
Your artist profile, catalog, and any content you publish are publicly visible. NFT and blockchain transactions are recorded on the Cardano network and are public, permanent, and outside our control.
6. Email tracking
Our emails may contain small pixels or tracked links that tell us whether a message was opened or a link was clicked, so we can measure and improve our communications. You can limit this by disabling image loading in your email client or by unsubscribing from non-essential emails.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, keep you signed in, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the platforms, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. On-chain records cannot be deleted.
9. Your choices and rights
You can access and update your account information at any time, and you can close your account. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. 10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
The platforms are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact info@sync.land and we will delete it.
12. International users
We operate from the United States. If you use the platforms from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed in the U.S. and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new date. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
