Yes. The Free Sync License covers monetized creator content on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and similar platforms up to 100,000 cumulative views and 12 months, with a credit to the artist and a link to sync.land in your description. Past the cap you have 30 days to buy a Commercial Sync License, which has no view cap, no time limit and no credit requirement.

The Free Sync License costs nothing. A Commercial Sync License is a one-time fee that the artist sets for each track; the default is $49. Sync.Land keeps 30% of the fee and the artist receives 70%. An on-chain record of the licence is optional and adds $5.00.

Ten reserved uses, listed in the licence: television programming, cinema release, advertising over US$25,000 in media spend or on broadcast media, originals for subscription platforms, games with a budget over US$1,000,000, trailers for any of those, resale of the track as music, endorsement or political use, AI training, and exclusivity. Those need a custom licence agreed with the artist. There is no checkout for it yet: use the contact form on the track’s page and the artist replies to you directly.

Free Sync is for small-scale creator use: personal, educational, user-generated, podcasts and game jams, with attribution, a view cap and a 12-month term. Commercial Sync is a per-project licence with no cap, no term and no credit requirement, priced by the artist. Yes. Every licence has a public verification address at sync.land/wp-json/FML/v1/licenses/<id>/verify, which returns the licence type and version, the track, the artist and, where one exists, the on-chain transaction. The licence ID is printed on the certificate. No account or key is needed.

The PDF certificate from your account. It names the track, the artist, the licence type and version, the date and the licence ID, and the public verification address lets the platform confirm it. The on-chain record is not read by YouTube, Meta or TikTok, so the certificate is the document that resolves a claim.

You need a free account, because the licence is issued in your name. There is no guest checkout. Payment is by card through Stripe, and the PDF licence certificate and the MP3 are in your account as soon as checkout finishes. Free Sync licences go through the same flow with no charge. You do not need a wallet: a Cardano address is asked for only if you add the optional on-chain record.

Independent artists upload their own catalogue and set their own terms. Each artist confirms at upload that they hold the rights to what they upload, and every track carries its own declaration of how the audio was made.

The MP3 that plays on the site, and the PDF licence certificate, both in your account immediately. If you need the lossless master or stems for a production, use the contact form on the track’s page; the artist replies directly.

We license recordings people made. AI can help you write, arrange, mix or master. Any audio in a track that a generator rendered, whether a vocal, an instrument or a bed, cannot be licensed here, even when it copies your own voice: nobody owns that audio, and nobody can say what the generator was trained on. That is a risk a buyer cannot be asked to take.

Every artist answers one question at upload: made by people, AI-assisted (AI used for writing, arranging, mixing or mastering, every audio layer still made by people), or contains generated audio. The first two are licensed and the second is labelled. A track containing generated audio can sit on a profile but is not offered for licensing until the generated layer is replaced with a performed one.

The artist’s declaration is shown on the song page, in catalogue rows and on the album page, and it is written on every licence. A track marked AI-assisted was made by people with AI used as a tool in writing, arranging, mixing or mastering; the whole recording is licensed. Tracks containing generated audio are not offered for licensing, so nothing you can license here carries a generated layer.

No. The composition, lyrics and arrangement are yours and licensable; the rendered vocal is not, whoever it sounds like, because a generator produced it. Record the vocal yourself over your arrangement and upload that version. The same applies to generated instruments and beds.

The artist tells us, and that declaration is a warranty recorded with their account, the date and the statement they confirmed. Every file is also checked when it is uploaded. If a question about a track comes up, licensing on it pauses until the artist confirms how it was made and, where asked, writes down who wrote, performed and owns it; that account goes on the licence. Nothing about a question is ever shown publicly.

An artist profile, then a WAV or MP3 for each track, cover art, a title and a release date. One track is enough; a release takes up to twenty. Each track needs an ISRC, or a tick to say you do not have one yet, and your answer to how the audio was created. Every file is checked when it is uploaded: a file that cannot be read or has no sound is held back from licensing until you replace it, and you are told why.

You receive 70% of every Commercial Sync sale. When a track is licensed you get an email showing your share, we get in touch to arrange the payment, and a second email confirms when it has been sent. Free Sync licences carry no fee, so nothing is paid on them.

No. Every licence issued here is non-exclusive. Your music stays yours, you can list it anywhere else, and you can pause or remove a track from licensing at any time from your dashboard. A licence already issued stays valid for that project.

From your dashboard, the pencil on any track opens its licence controls: turn Commercial Sync on or off, set its price, pause or remove the track, and correct your declaration of how it was made. Free Sync is on by default and can be turned off per track.

Music supervisors, game developers and other buyers post a brief describing what they need. Each one is reviewed before it goes on the board. Artists with an account pitch up to three tracks per brief; Sync.Land reviews each pitch and forwards it to the buyer, and you get an email whenever its status changes: forwarded, passed, interested or licensed. There are seven open briefs on the board today.

Every brief closes on the deadline shown on it. If a brief closes before a decision reached your pitch, the pitch shows as Brief closed in your dashboard. That is the window closing, not a rejection: your track was not turned down, and it stays in your catalogue for the next brief that fits.

Create a free account and use the form on the briefs board: what the project is, the mood, the deadline and the budget. It costs nothing. Each brief is reviewed before it is posted, and you receive a shortlist of pitches from the catalogue rather than searching it yourself.

Email info@sync.land from the address on your account and it is closed within two business days. Your profile, images and unlicensed tracks are deleted. Licences already issued stay valid, so a track that has been licensed stays on file for that licence only and is no longer listed. The Privacy Policy has the detail.

Reply to any email from us, or write to info@sync.land. A person reads every message.

If you add it at checkout, the licence is minted through NMKR as a CIP-25 token on the Cardano preprod network and sent to the Cardano address you give. It is a timestamped, tamper-evident record of which track was licensed, by whom, when and under which licence version, and anyone can look it up on a block explorer without going through us.

It is not a rights claim. YouTube, Meta and TikTok do not read it, and it does not register your video with any content-identification system. If a video of yours is ever flagged, the PDF certificate is what you send.
