EC=MC² is the electronic music project of Portuguese artist and creator Mário Cales. His music explores the space between consciousness, technology, nature and human transformation, combining atmospheric electronics, ambient textures, minimal techno and cinematic soundscapes.

Inspired by science fiction, psychedelia, spirituality and the relationship between humans and emerging technologies, EC=MC² creates immersive sound worlds that can evoke distant planets, altered states of consciousness, mysterious landscapes and possible futures.

Mário Cales has been creating and exploring music for decades, continually experimenting with new sounds and ideas. His work is particularly suited to film, television, animation, games and other visual projects seeking atmospheric, futuristic, introspective or unconventional electronic music.
